Project 01
Simpl-Open: middleware for European data spaces
The context
The European Commission is funding Simpl, the smart middleware intended to power Europe's common data spaces. Simpl-Open is its open-source implementation: a platform designed to support secure, interoperable data sharing between organisations across European data initiatives.
What we did
As Lead Architect over three years, we defined the platform's technical blueprint and governed it across a consortium of six technology partners, keeping a politically visible, technically ambitious programme coherent from design through successive open-source releases.

Project 02
Eurojust Case Management System
The context
Eurojust is the EU Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation. Its Case Management System supports the exchange of information that coordinates Europe's fight against serious cross-border crime: highly sensitive judicial data, where failure carries legal and diplomatic consequences.
What we did
We led the technical architecture of the CMS in an environment where security by design is not a feature but the foundation. Working alongside Accenture and Avanade, we defined and governed the technical approach across the delivery.

Project 03
Visa Information System (VIS)
The context
The Visa Information System allows Schengen States to exchange visa data. It connects consulates in non-EU countries with all external border crossing points of Schengen States: critical border-management infrastructure operating at European scale.
What we did
Over four years as Technical Project Lead, we steered the technical delivery of a complex multi-partner programme involving Accenture, Idemia and Atos, guarding the system's technical integrity across the full project lifecycle.
